What Would You Do If You Were Told That You Had Two Months To Live?
March 2nd, 2008 · Filed Under: Views On Obesity
I received a very passionate and heartfelt story from one of my readers today. The Obliterate Obesity Report struck a cord with Helen and I’m proud of her for the willingness to share her story and experience with all of you. The amazing thing is that her doctor told her that she had 2 months to live. That was 10 years ago. If the doctor was right Helen would not be here to share her story and unite with all of us to obliterate obesity. Here’s Helen’s story and response to my report…
There’s one lesson that I want you to take from Helen’s story. She demanded to live a longer and higher quality of life. She didn’t settle for her doctor’s belief that she only had two months to live.
She was proactive and found the solutions to her problem. We should never give up. If our doctors don’t demand more of themselves than we have to demand more of ourselves to seek out our own solutions.
Never ever give up. There is so much worth fighting for. Here’s Helen’s story…
Hi Scott,
I listened to the audio that you did with Scott Colby as well as read your report and I found it interesting and informative. Your plan to start a walk to obliterate obesity is a good way to get people exercising and this will work with those who’s problem is a lack of exercise only but what about those people in the population who’s problem is parasites?
Parasites could collect around the heart weakening the heart holding the fat in and if these people started walking instead of dealing with their parasite problem they could die of a heart attack while walking…
Or what about those people who are obese because their bodies are full of chemicals plus parasites and they start walking instead of dealing with the real cause of their obesity…
Or what about those people who are obese because of environmental toxins plus chemicals plus parasites and they begin walking and die from a heart attack because someone told them to start walking instead of finding out the real cause…
Or what about those people who are obese because of their emotions holding the toxins in which in turn is holding the parasites in which in turn is holding the chemicals in and they are told to go walk instead of dealing with the main problem…
Or what about those people who are drinking contaminated water and the contaminants from the water is what is causing them to be obese and they are told to go walking instead of finding and getting rid of the cause of their problem…
Or what if someone who has mercury in their body which is holding the fat in which is holding the emotions in which in turn is holding the chemicals in which in turn is holding the parasites in and these people are told to go walking instead of dealing with the main cause of their problem and they go walking and die of a heart attack because someone was not knowledgable enough to find out the real cause…
So as you can see obesity can be a huge range of problems and to deal with it you need to have professionals working together who are knowledgeable enough about these different problems that can recognize them in people and help them to find out the real cause for their obesity. Just walking will not get rid of these extensive problems.
How do I know about all this!!
First of all I was in a wheelchair 10 years ago and given two months to live and I am here today ONLY because someone who treated and worked with me was knowledgeable about parasites, chemicals, emotions, pollution, clean water, and mercury.
It took me three years to totally get better and for my body to heal alternatively by itself because all these problems mentioned above were my problem and if someone who was not as knowledgeable told me to go out and walk instead of finding out the real cause I will not be here today.
The times I have been overweight was mostly because of emotions and parasites so when I would find out what emotions I was dealing with and what parasites I was dealing with take a homeopathy for that particular problem and I would drop 7 pounds in a couple of days and to this day this is how I keep my weight off.
Now I find out the cause and get rid of it. So that is why just walking alone will only touch a minute part of the population because of the toxins and chemicals and parasites, etc.
What needs to happen for unity is the doctors in the medical profession need to unite with the alternative doctors who in turn unite with the massage therapists who in turn unite with the psychologists who in turn unites with the hypnotists who in turn unites with those who treat the body as a whole unit. That is what will make a difference I think but that is just my opinion.
Thanks,
Helen
MY RESPONSE:
First of all you can see why Helen is so passionate about the issue of parasites, emotions, chemicals, and everything else that affects our health. It’s what she’s lived. It may be hard for many of us to understand where she’s coming from, and I must admit that at first I thought it was a bit extreme. But I haven’t walked in Helen’s shoes.
I’m very glad that she has taken the time to enlighten us with her experiences. That’s what this blog is all about. It’s about your stories and experiences and your thoughts and opinions on what needs to be done in order to obliterate obesity.
Out of the twenty something pages in the Obliterate Obesity Report I only mentioned walking in two sentences and I mentioned it because Angie and I are starting a weekly walk in our community to get people active and raise awareness for the issue of obesity.
I don’t believe that I ever mentioned that walking was the only solution to obliterate obesity and now Helen is clear on that as you will read in her response to my response
In the audio that I did with Scott Colby and in one of my blog posts I was trying to brainstorm different ideas for people to raise awareness in their community and unite everyone to reverse the obesity trend. That’s really what this blog and my report is all about.
Throughout my report I call on all professionals and people of influence to unite for this cause. I agree 100% that we need to unite traditional doctors with alternative doctors etc. I’m already in the process of doing this with this blog.
I do believe that the weekly walk in my community as well as any other events that all of you round up to raise awareness and obliterate obesity, will have some impact on the weight and health of many people.
I can certainly understand your points about parasites, chemicals, and water Helen. And I totally agree with the emotions part as that’s what I cover in all of my products. But the fact is that our society is grossly under-active especially compared to just a couple decades ago. Walking is a tremendous improvement for the majority of our population and will contribute to the overall solution.
It’s definitely just a part of the solution. There are so many factors to consider and you’ve brought up several yourself and I thank you for that. There is not one single factor that will obliterate obesity. That’s why it’s important that we encourage even the little things. As they all add up, that is where the difference will really be made.
I am starting to find more and more doctors recognizing some of the alternative methods. I hope that they stop fighting each other just as I hope that my fellow fitness professionals stop claiming that one form of exercise is better than the other and that people should avoid all methods other than their own.
Helen’s second response:
Hi Scott;
Thanks for the response. I was a bit confused at what you meant because when I listened to the audio and read your report it seemed to state that walking was the only way you thought was going to obliterate obesity. Thanks for the clarification.
10 years ago when the doctors told me I had two months to live and when I started using alternative methods to heal I lived from day to day not knowing if my family was going to find me dead in the morning because for one year it was a touch and go. Was I scared? Yes,but I had knowledgeable people who had more faith than fear helping me through my fears.
The specialists told me I was crazy to not go the medical way. For the past five years I teach the philosophy of regeneration to people who have given up on themselves and who have lost touch with their bodies ability to heal itself.
It is good to hear that walking is one of many ways of healing and you are being a part of that and promoting that. That is awesome! I just misunderstood you because I thought you meant that walking was the only way to obliterate obesity and it is good to hear that you plan on uniting with others to help people heal as a whole person.
Thanks again for what you are promoting and doing. Together we can help others to become healthy AND ACTIVE!!!
AWESOME!!!
Helen
This is the type of discussion that I encourage from all of you. I’m going to continue with some of Helen’s story in another post as I’m sure it will help some of my fellow readers.
You see, even if Helen’s story only effects 10 people who read it, she will have made a tremendous impact on their lives and hopefully those 10 people will share that experience with others.
You too can make a difference. This is a place where you voice can and will be heard. As you can see, there is no one solution. It takes us all uniting together to make a difference and sharing our experiences with each other.
I look forward to hearing all of your stories and helping you spread your message to make this world a healthier place.
Have an absolutely amazing day!
