Yet Another Reason to Reduce Your Fat Intake

Hi everyone, I have just read an article in the U.S. Today that concluded your risk of dementia is 3. 6 times higher if you carry excess body fat around your waist. Researchers have already proven that excess weight in belly area will increase your risk of diabetes, stroke, and heart disease. However, this is the first study to reveal that it also increases your chances of getting dementia. This includes Alzheimer’s Disease- an incurable brain disease.

” But even people who’d kept close tabs on overall body weight were at risk if they sported a spare tire: They were 1.8 times more likely to develop dementia compared with people who were lean all over. The study appears in today’s online edition of Neurology.”
